People who carry sexually transmitted diseases are not dangerous people. (unless they give it to ppl on purpose) They are not bad people just because they have infections they caught through sex (or needles). A lot of people tend to freak out and treat them badly… which is wrong. Its okay to be cautious, or to be a little weirded out, but to make them feel like they’re the disease itself, is absolutely wrong and hurtful. I have a really close friend whose been living with HIV for two years. Her family, including myself, are actively involved in the fight against HIV. We love her to death. The disease does not change my view of her in any way. But sometimes, when people find out they look at her in disgust and completely cut her off or make her feel like shit. Its bad enough that she has to go through this. So please, if you ever hear of someone you know have an std, be considerate of their feelings. They don’t want to be reminded every day of what they’re carrying for possibly the rest of their lives.
I'm an illustration student who likes silly stuff. This is my dicking around blog. Consists of fandom stuff, poop (not literally poop), also a bit of (progressive) politics, atheism and (intersectional) feminism. (I try not to be like most douchebaggy internet atheists. Might come off as a feminist killjoy tho.) Pre-warning you.
